Prompt: Describe the setting of the play. What kind of atmosphere is established by the details in the opening scene? Does the atmosphere change through the course of the play? How does it change?

The setting of the play is in a kitchen with a group of people having a conversation about a serious situation.The atmosphere in the play starts off as a heavy gloomy mood, this is represented the play by showing “Now, Mr. Hale, before we move things about, you explain to Mr. Henderson just what you saw when you came h~re yesterday morning.COUNTY ATTORNEY (crossing down to left of the table) By the way, has anything been moved? Are things just as you left them yesterday?”. The atmosphere of the play does not change throughout the play it keeps the same intense gloomy feeling and mood.
